June News from Cambern Homes

June 2023

June is a well-celebrated month for Father's Day and I definitely have a few people I want to celebrate!

In my life I had an amazing mother who often fulfilled both roles of mother and father for me. It wasn't until later in my life that I truly understood and experienced the role of dad, father and grandfather.

My husband Luke is a Paw-ther to our furrbabies Gantu & Stout. They adore him and he spoils them so well. He is a Step-Dad to my daughter not in the typical fashion but as her friend and protector. The two of them are so alike that they rarely agree, but you can count on them always being on the same page when it comes to picking on me!
Brian, Bailey's dad, has never for a single moment not been there for his daughter. There may have been times she thought she didn't need him, but he was still there just the same.
Scott Lucas is my Father-in-Law. Scott has always been there for me and his son from the very first day we met. I know at any time I can call on him and he will be there. He is fierce in his love!
Strong "Irish" Grandpa Bob is from my husband's family, and he has to be the world's greatest hugger and most awesome Grandfather EVER! The best way to describe this man is strong and happy. So much love is generated in his strong arms that I seriously think he is part bear. He always adds those extra pats of love on the back that make you squeak out loud just a little lol.

For this month, I’m thinking about these men who have meant so much to me, and wishing all you dads and father-figures a Happy Father’s Day!

In celebration, I'm inviting dads to come by my office (235 S. Main St. Lebanon) for a free Cambern Homes hat and goodie bad on June 10, 11 am-1 pm. Also on June 10, come join me at No Rails in Albany, 3-5 pm, and Dads can enjoy a free drink, compliments of Cambern Homes!

Thanks for all you do, Dads of the world!

Angela Cambern Home Reviews

Angela is truly one of the best I've ever met at what she does. Not one time during the process did I ever feel pressured to buy, but I did feel more informed than I have with any other agent. She is so knowledgeable when it comes to real estate. The greatest part is even after the process is done, she still continues to take care of you as a client by dropping off goodie bags, answering those crazy what if questions when the market goes crazy, and will give you the best advice when it comes to which upgrades to make to maximize the value of your home.

So happy to have Angela in our corner!

In Memory of B

We got this sweet story of B from my friend Angela Stackhouse. B was a sweet kitty who made her home in the hearts of Angela and her family.

"B came to us by chance you can say. She was my mom’s neighbor’s cat, and when mom’s neighbor passed away, no one took her. So my mom trapped her and brought her to us! (Turns out, B really didn’t like anyone, so it’s a huge bonus that she eventually became our loving household cat!)

It was time when my mom brought her to us and when she opened up the cat carrier, B booked it out of there. My mom didn't have a chance of getting her inside of the house! Right then we were like, "where did she go? Is she even around?!” We went and called for her but had no luck getting her to show herself.

Now, our woodshed is behind our home, and my husband was always back there bringing in wood or whatnot. One night, he spots her and goes “no way!” At this point, he thought I was making it up about my mom bringing a cat to our house because he’d never seen her! After that, he named her Black Knight because he would see her the most at night. Eventually she came into the house and we started calling her “BK” then just “B”.

She had been living under our house for a while, but eventually it got to be winter and it started to snow. We peeled back some of the siding so we could get to her and try and catch her. It took time with food and working together to get her, but we finally caught her and brought her inside. She was oh so scared! She lived in our room under our bed for a while. Sometimes we would get her out to hold her and pet her. But she didn't like loud noises, which wasn't great because we are not a quiet house!

Time went by and she started getting used to everything. She was fine with our dog. She even put up with our other cats, even though she WAS NOT having it at first, eventually they started sleeping on the same bed!

B loved my husband, who was her human. She would follow him and listen to everything he said. He taught her how to shake. Have you ever seen a cat shake on demand? She did but only for him. It was crazy. She would make her rounds after a while on who she wanted to sleep with. Whoever was being relaxed and not making a lot of noise is who she would go to. Toward the end of her life, she mostly chose our youngest daughter. B would sit by her door until she was able to get in there with her.

It was hard when we had to make the choice of putting her to sleep, but we didn't want to see her in pain anymore. It was her time to cross over that rainbow bridge and be with our other fur babies. She is going to be missed. My husband will miss her curling up on his chair with him and sleeping right up against his side or back so that he couldn’t move much in bed. He always made sure she had more room in the bed than I did!

It's always hard to lose a pet because they aren't just pets they are family. B made a mark on our hearts and it hurts so badly to say goodbye. But it's never a goodbye, it's a see you later and B will never be forgotten. Till we get to see her again."

May News from Cambern Homes

May 2023

MAY-be it’s spring, MAYBE it's NOT! Come on Oregon don't let me down this month and bring on that glorious sunshine.

May is a month of many special days. Mother’s Day has to be one of the best days in my opinion. I was one lucky kid who was inspired by an amazingly strong woman who could bring the world to a stop with her wickedly sarcastic sense of humor. Anyone else have a mom that could deliver a one liner that made everyone within hearing distance laugh so hard they cried?

April was a fabulous month for me! As I mentioned in previous newsletters, I have been working on self-care. That is exactly what I did the last week of April in Maui with one of my favorite people and my best friend. We enjoyed some planned and not so planned adventures. We drove on very scary roads, snorkeled at several beautiful beaches, consumed some of the most delicious seafood, and laughed so much our abs were sore the next day from it. Here are just a few pictures from our visit.

Aloha!
Angela

Angela was excellent! We went into an open house she was having,  fell in love with it and she made it happen for us. She was working for us and the seller on the deal and was 100% supportive and honest with us both. The smoothest transaction I've ever had. I highly recommend her.

April News from Cambern Homes

April 2023

April is a pretty cool month in my opinion. If someone could have a spirit month, April just might be mine.  Heck it even starts off with a sense of humor, April Fool’s Day! Then on April 19th it is NATIONAL GARLIC DAY which also happens to be my mother’s birthday.  She has left this world but I eat garlic infused shrimp scampi every year and laugh because we used to bring each other to tears with scampi burps on our way back home from dinner. Miss ya momma! Here is a picture of her, me, and Bailey.

A big focus I have been working on this year is self-care. The past few years were undoubtedly exciting, as much as they were exhausting!

For all those long days of early showings (I saw a ton of sunrises and I am NOT a morning person) and late-night offers (I missed many game nights with friends) I forgot my own self-care.  I am learning to do better, and self-care comes in many forms. My newest self-care is facing the sun for 5 minutes and not moving. So, I have only done this twice this year...because our weather obviously didn't get the MEMO that I need SUN to do this! As I can't rely on Oregon weather, my backup self-care has been to schedule a few trips this year.

I am going to Kihei, HI. I have never been and in fact most likely while you’re reading this I will still be there. I am so excited to see beaches, turtles and go snorkeling! I will be sure and have some pictures to share in my May newsletter. In July, I have a fun girl’s trip planned to go to Independence, MO for some spectacular wine tasting and sightseeing. I will then wrap up my self-care adventures in September when Luke and I go on a 10-day cruise to Alaska! We even have a sled dog ride scheduled.

Angela Cambern Home Reviews

"Angela has been awesome!! She's helped my wife & I get into 2 homes, both we're absolutely in love with! She's always there to answer any & all of our questions, which we have a lot of being that we're both very new to the home buying process.

But she's always so positive & eager to help teach and guide us to learn everything we need to know in order to get into these houses.

She's extremely quick at getting things done, and ensures we stand a really good chance on any house we show interest in.

Thanks to Angela, my wife & I got into some amazing homes, which has completely  improved our quality of life, & has also earned us a lot of fantastic equity being that these were such great investments.

Honestly, I couldn't thank her enough, my wife & I will forever be grateful to have met Angela and gained such an amazing  friend!! She's the only realtor that we're interested in going through, because she's so great at her job. 5 stars hands down, thank you again Angela for everything!!

Cheers, Robert S."

March News from Cambern Homes

March 2023

St. Patrick's Day is a holiday that I LOVE almost as much as Halloween. This photo of Luke and I may be a few years old but it really sums up the fun we have for St. Patty's Day.

A funny story that I find more humorous than my husband does is about the St. Patrick's party he wasn't invited to. When we first started our friendship, I was known for hosting a St. Patrick's Day party every year. He heard about my party and thought for sure I would invite him....and then I DIDN'T! I had to hear about that for a few years even after I invited him to the next party. I do however feel I made it up to him as I did propose to HIM at OUR St. Patrick's Day party a few years later 😂🍀💍.

The luck of the Irish has been with me! This lucky lady won the gold with TWO amazing agents joining me at Cambern Homes last month. If you happened to miss my Facebook post fear not as I am so thrilled to have them, I will happily talk about them again here 🥰

Moriah is ENERGY! The level of positive energy and personal intuition she brings to her client experience is inspiring. Her tagline is Move with Moriah and I love it!
Cara is CARING! Being in the customer service industry can be a true challenge to your sanity and Cara has proven she can take care of all of her clients and even have a sense of humor too!

February News from Cambern Homes

February 2023

Fabulous! Fantastic! Flipping (awesome)! These are all excellent and appropriate words for how I feel about February.  So many great things have happened in the month of February in my life. By far the very best thing was February 23rd, 1999. The day my baby girl Bailey was born.

Happy birthday my beautiful daughter! I am so amazed by the person you have become over the past 24 years.  Your physical, emotional, and mental strength make me so proud and often leave me in awe. You're still a snarky thing of course but you mostly use your power for good. I wish you the happiest of Birthdays and I love you to the moon and back.

Enough about my adorable daughter for now lol.

I want to talk about something else that is near and dear to me, and that is animals. Specifically, animals in need.  This fall I want to host a silent auction at my favorite tap house and have all of the proceeds go to an animal group in need. I already have Chintimini Wildlife as an option and I would love to hear more suggestions of animal groups to consider.  Maybe we could vote?

What does this mean for you? I need and would ABSOLUTELY LOVE your support with picking the animal group. I will need help with collecting donations for the auction. Of COURSE I want you ALL to come and bid and win at the auction. More information will be coming in the months ahead so pay attention.  If you are reading this and thinking of an animal group or a business donation then PLEASE reach out asap as I want to talk to you. I will even match your donation or help if I can with putting the basket together. Ask my husband and clients - this girl knows how to shop and make baskets!

Pet Corner - Meet Mary

Mary's food provider and litter box cleaner is Tricia Walters. Mary is obviously the "owner" of the home I just listed in Jefferson. The bag of towels she has MOST DEFINITELY claimed are for my staging. I left these in a room the day before photos and the lady who pays the mortgage (thinks she is the owner) sent me this photo. I LOVE this crazy cat!

MY FURBABIES - STOUT SANDWICH!

This dog CRACKS me up! No I did NOT put her there or stage this photo. I was folding laundry on the bed next to her and turned to see Stout had made a sandwich out of herself.

January News from Cambern Homes

January 2023

Happy New Year! Bring it on 2023!

If you were to ask me how I felt about 2022 I would have to use the popular meme.

What do I have planned for 2023? Everything! Those who know me know that I don't like to slow down and that I love to help people grow. So, for 2023 I have decided it's time to GROW and I am doing that by adding TWO agents to my office. No, I am not telling you who they are YET. I want to make sure they are perfectly set up, supported, and all trained before I introduce you to them. Hey, don't give me any flack! You all can be a rowdy bunch and I want these guys ready. I will make an official announcement as soon as my team is ready.

Some of you might be wondering why I am adding agents to my office when people are talking about the possibility of a market crash, scary interest rates, and so much more. In all honesty, there is ALWAYS a chance something won't go according to plan but I can assure you that now is still a great time to buy or sell a home. Real estate is and always will be a great long-term investment. 2022 was my best year yet and that happened in the last 6 months of the year when the interest rates skyrocketed, inventory was still limited, and people were REALLY talking about the real estate world.

What matters is how you go into the process and who holds your hand through it. I am there every step of the way and will never hesitate to share my opinion, my skills, and my knowledge. We will navigate the process together, choosing what is best for you, your family, friends, and our community. After all, you just might be my neighbor one day and I want you to be delighted to see me.

- Excited for 2023!
